Uhuru2learn
Uhuru2Learn (freedom to learn) is a socio-economic development initiative spearheaded by Catagrict Imprimere, a wholly black-managed association incorporated under Section 21 whose primary objective is to provide skills development to disadvantaged communities.
Catagrict Imprimere provides skills training to youth from historically disadvantaged backgrounds in three centres situated in Gauteng, KwaZulu-Natal and Eastern Cape. Over the past 4 years, we have offered ICT and technical skills training to over 400 young people at no cost, some of whom have now secured employment in the call centre and construction industry. In our quest to expand our foot-print in youth socio-economic development despite limited resources, we have secured distribution rights for Serebra Learning Corporation products. Serebra Learning Corporation is one of Canada's leading providers of e-learning solutions that have launched a global skills development initiative called the EasyLearning Global Education Programme. Through EasyLearning Global Education Programme, 560 certification level information technology (IT), Desktop Skills and Professional Development courses have been distributed to 133 countries with limited bandwidth and access to the internet around the world, including Uganda, UAE, China, India, Pakistan. Under this program, millions of students in these countries now have enhanced learning opportunities. Through our initiative, Uhuru2Learn, South Africa is now listed amongst these countries for thousands of our young persons to benefit from the highly sought after qualifications in ICT, desktop skills and personal development. |
